More than 900 91�ε� Business School students were congratulated on their graduation this week.

The Rt Hon John Bercow MP (pictured), Speaker of the House of Commons, promised to champion higher education as a means to improve social mobility when he took up his role as Chancellor of the 91�ε� today [25 July 2014], describing going to university as “more transformative than even a lottery win”.

A graduate at this week’s ceremonies, who devised an android mobile app to help small businesses book appointments, was given a special award for his achievements at the 91�ε� – during which time he also became a father.

Summer graduations at the 91�ε� moved this week from Bedford to Luton, and amongst the highlights of the first ceremony, at the 91�ε�’s Putteridge Bury campus on Monday (21 July), was the award of an Honorary Degree to actress, author and animal rights campaigner Virginia McKenna.
